Power Set Name: Shadow/Darkness
Basic Concept: The power to manipulate Shadow (interchangeably called Darkness) is, in some ways, a mirror to Aura. Where Aura typically manifests as the manipulation of light-reminiscent energy and positive emotions, Shadow is the utilization of darkness powered in part by negative emotions. While functioning first and foremost as a combat ability, Shadow brings with it a dangerous breadth of utility options as well. The various origins of Shadow power--from innate abilities like those of the Ancient Darkrai to artificial power obtained through the Shadow Pokémon process to the pure-form manifestations of Shadow Selves to power granted from Missing Zero--allow for an extremely broad variety of Shadow-based powers; additionally, not all Shadow users are created equal, with some possessing exclusive access to certain powers.
Focus: Variable, but generally heavily combat-oriented.
Type: Tends to manifest as the Shadow-Type, but can also mimic elements of other Types as well.

Focus: Variable, but generally heavily combat-oriented.
Type: Tends to manifest as the Shadow-Type, but can also mimic elements of other Types as well.
Pros:
- Sheer Variety: The variety of abilities granted by Shadow is much larger than most other types of power, even for the most basic type of Shadow-user. Even going a step above "basic" tends to grant one unique abilities not wielded by other Shadow-users.
- Destructive Force: Shadow powers are inherently destructive, and demonstrate this by bypassing Type Resistances to become super-effective against any Type. They are also physically powerful even without the overt use of any ability.
- Damage Resistance: On the other end of the spectrum, Shadow resists damage from all other Types in addition to boosting the user's natural endurance and toughness. Even those that are killed tend to be incredibly difficult to keep dead--some Shadow Selves, and the Sins as a whole, have come back from what at first appeared to be death.
Cons:
- Guaranteed Madness: The power of Shadow seems to come, almost to exclusivity, at the cost of the user's sanity and a darkening of their personality. Most Shadow-users, if not outright violent and malicious, tend to demonstrate an increased disregard for normal lifeforms.
- Natural Target: Albeit compounded by the course of actions many of them tend to take, Shadow-users tend to become priority targets for any groups of trainers and agents that they come into contact with. Thus, their fatality rate is very high.
- Loss of Self: Much like addicts, Shadow-users tend to fall into a feedback loop wherein, fueled by their desire for destruction, they engage in heinous acts that quench their need for destruction yet require more devastating action the next time they feel that impulse. This contributes greatly to their poor reputation among the rest of the world, and oftentimes feeds into the issues listed above.
