Name: Jackson Sang
Faction: N/A
Hometown: Castelia City, Unova
Age: 23 (b. February 14th, 1994)
Appearance: A dashing and handsome individual, Jackson is 5'10" and has burgundy-colored hair and eyes. In general, he is seen wearing a black trench coat with silver buttons and a black or dark gray-blue suit underneath. He wears a leather belt with a silver clasp, on which he carries his Poké Balls. On the job, he takes on a wide range of disguises and appearances, either through different clothing or with the help of Tracer.
Personality: An insanely effective assassin who has virtually never lost a battle, Sang has developed a bit of a complex, becoming rather condescending and cocky to almost everyone he speaks. He is very confident in his abilities and as such approaches most missions and situations with a sense of relaxed ease, hardly ever seeing the need to put in 100% effort. Part of his effectiveness on the field comes from how quickly he can switch into a serious mindset if the situation calls for it--if a threat proves itself, he will drop all pretense of condescension and afford it the respect it deserves. Outside of battle, he is a bit of a jokester, and is usually a pretty cool person to hang out with, so long as you don't do something to get on his bad side.
Following a series of missions that have gone sideways, including the mutilation of Ash Ketchum, Tate, and Liza; a confrontation with Tyler McKinley that resulted in his memory being partially locked; being put out of commission by Nine for a period of time while trying to locate Levi Alaric; and the release of M0, Sang has found his confidence somewhat shaken. He has become quieter and more serious, choosing to take a backseat for a while in order to follow and observe the examples of others rather than continue on his own path. While his skills remain sharp as ever, he is reevaluating parts of his fighting philosophy in order to improve his methods.
Background: There are a lot of myths that surround Jackson Sang, stemming from his effectiveness as a hitman and trainer. These myths range from the conspiratorial (that he is a super soldier created by Team Rocket or Team Plasma; that he's a serial killer doing time on Team Rocket's watch) to the supernatural (he is a Legendary Pokémon in human form; he has made a pact with the devil) to the somewhat mundane (he is the secret brother of Shadow Admin Sleight). The truth is a lot simpler and a lot more tragic.
Jackson Sang was born in Castelia City, Unova. He came from an upper-middle class family in a fine neighborhood, where he was privileged enough to study all sorts of topics. He was particularly fond of acrobatics and desired to train to become a world-class practitioner, though his parents did not allow this. Growing up, he was best friends with a boy named Emre Pace, whom Sang developed romantic feelings for somewhere in his early teens. The two would often sneak out at night to explore the city, freedom that the stuffiness of their home lives did not normally afford. On one such occasion, Emre utilized his own skills in parkour to jump a gated alley, where he was cornered by a pack of Mightyena while Sang was left to watch. He was saved by the timely arrival of Blair Black, instilling in both a sense of awe and a desire to help others. On another occasion sometime later, the two bore witness to a man being attacked by a group of muggers. When Sang and Emre attempted to help, the muggers turned their attention to the boys. Emre did not survive this encounter, and his death left Sang heartbroken and filled with a desire for vengeance. Unable to mesh the complex feelings from these two encounters into one rational mindset, Sang ran away from home in order to strike out on his own.
In the years that followed, Sang practiced his skills in combat and acrobatics in order to become an effective, if somewhat unstable vigilante. Before long, he had amassed for himself a reputation as a hitman-for-hire and began to take jobs for money, slowly building his Pokémon team along the way. His clientele included local gangs, the secretive Sparks Industries, Team Plasma's seedier half, and eventually gained the attention of Team Rocket, an organization whom Sang had once considered a boogieman of his own. At some point, Team Rocket became his primary benefactor, more or less earning his undivided loyalty to the organization--though not in an official capacity.
Sang participated in and completed numerous missions throughout the Rocket-Liberty War, usually acting on special instructions rather than as a direct agent. He joined up with several Rocket Agents in order to intercept Quincy Adams and several other Déoza Agents on the Kanto-Johto Magnet Train; in this mission, Adams utilized an experimental device that sent them all into a side-dimension, which turned out later to be the containment zone for Missing Zero. After escaping this, he was hired to investigate the disappearance of several prisoners in Chapel, which he discovered to be the work of a rogue Executive named Tobias Elton. This mission resulted in the deaths of Tate, Liza, and Ash Ketchum. While observing Ash's child and Misty later on, Sang encountered Tyler McKinley, who admitted the truth of Ford's master plan before locking Sang's memory of the encounter. In his efforts to retrieve these memories, Sang ended up in Sleight's direct service in order to locate the kidnapped Levi Alaric. Sang was then rendered comatose by Ford's Darkrai Nine, along with Eileen Alaric, while investigating the Alaric Estate. After awakening and remembering the encounter with McKinley, Sang led the Alarics to Two Island for the final confrontation with Ford, which ended with the deactivation of Pokémon powers and the release of Missing Zero. Some days later, Sang operated the Ground-Type Power Suit during the mission to One Island, where he was injured during the evacuation, but later recovered.
Sang has most recently embarked on another Power Suit operation, this time operating the Fighting-Type Suit, to help clear Cinnabar Island of Team Rocket's presence before Missing Zero reaches it, in order to prevent any notable data from being absorbed.
